Claims support

When you need to use your insurance, we’re here to help you understand the process and work through the next steps.

Making a claim can feel overwhelming, particularly when you are dealing with illness, injury or the loss of someone close to you. Premier Wealth Protection helps our clients navigate insurer requests and keeps in contact as the claim progresses.

How the claims process works

The details vary by policy and claim type. These are the usual stages:

01

Tell us what has happened

Contact our team when you are ready. We’ll identify the relevant policy, discuss the cover involved and help you understand how to start.

02

Prepare the claim

We can help you understand the forms and evidence the insurer requests, and keep track of what still needs to be supplied.

03

Insurer assessment

The insurer assesses the evidence against the policy terms. It may request further medical, employment or financial information.

04

Decision and follow-up

We can help you understand the insurer’s decision and the next steps, including payment arrangements or available review avenues.

What information might be needed?

You do not need to have everything ready before contacting us. Depending on the claim, the insurer may ask for:

  • Your policy number and completed claim forms
  • Medical reports or information from treating practitioners
  • Details of your work duties, earnings or time away from work
  • Financial records for an income protection claim
  • A death certificate and other relevant documents for a life cover claim

Support through the difficult parts

A request for more information does not necessarily mean a claim has been declined. We can help you understand what the insurer is asking for, communicate with its claims team and follow up on progress. For ongoing income protection claims, the insurer may also request periodic updates about your health and work capacity.

The insurer makes the claim decision. If you disagree with its decision, you can ask about its internal review or complaints process. We can help you understand those options and the information relevant to a review.

Every claim depends on the relevant policy terms and evidence. We cannot guarantee that a claim will be accepted or how long an assessment will take.
